Day 39 & 40

The last two days were a blur. Between seeing the Rocky Mountain National Park in full fog and 17 hours of driving to get home, we made the last two days count. Crashing into bed at 5:30am, we were sad the trip was over but grateful to be home. These past 40 days have been an incredible experience, witnessing nature and cities from all over North America. This trip was my "Taste of North America", and I'm definitely hungry for more. :)

Day 36, 37, & 38

On the Rohde home! First stop was Las Vegas for some pool time and dry heat. Cirque du Soleil shattered my expectations and made my jaw drop. After Sin City, we headed towards the Grand Canyon- one of the coolest natural wonders I've seen on this trip. The sunset view made it even more special- for a moment, we were at the top of the world.
Eh it's not that hot...

Day 34 & 35

The City of Angels welcomed us with open arms as the last stop before heading home. We did exactly what the tour books tell you not to do- try and visit every area of LA. From Malibu to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica to West Hollywood, we packed in as much LA as we could handle. Oh, and the same went for In-n-Out burgers... :)

Day 32 &33

Smoke greeted us as we drove up to Yosemite. While still visible and amazing, everything from the waterfalls to the granite cliffs was engulfed in a layer of smoke. It made for some cool pictures, but sadly not the best views. Thankfully, the Sequoia National Park was not in a wildfire zone, so the next day we got unobstructed views of the gigantic trees, including the Sherman. After driving along Southern California's oil ridge with a beautiful sunset, we made our way through Los Padres National forest to the small town of Ojai for the night.
